In short troops are the foundation of the tiles that you send up in a match. Each type of troop has multipliers for your heroes basic stats. As you level all your troops your tile hits get stronger. Each element has troops that range from 1 to 4 stars. Each element also has multiple troop choices at each level. To equip your troops or change them you must be on the screen to set up your team. Tap on the troop that is underneath your hero this will pull up all options that you have for this element. Tap on the troop you want to equip and hit done.

Troops have elemental colors associated with the hero elemental colors. When players create their lineup, they assign a troop to each hero to boost their features. Like heroes, troops can have levels to increase and each one has a special skill it can help a hero with.

The troops can be viewed from the inventory or from the barracks. When viewing the troops from the barracks then players can see how many points the troop will help each feature, and the feature in the bottom right will be the special skill that troop provides (critical strike, healing, mana bonus, etc). In the barracks the troops features can be viewed by selecting the box in the top right corner of the troop card.

Troops must match the elemental color of the hero and can only be used once for each team line-up.

Troops will increase the team power as well.
